Bomb Threat Reported At Attorney General William Tong’s Stamford Home

STAMFORD, CT — A bomb threat was made to Attorney General William Tong's Stamford home Friday morning, according to a report from News 12 Connecticut.

Police and fire personnel responded to Tong's home before 10 a.m., News 12 CT said.

Tong issued a statement saying he and his family are safe.

"I want to thank the state and local police and first responders for their professionalism and hard work today in responding to this threat. I am grateful that my family is safe. I am going to continue to do my job fighting for and protecting Connecticut families," Tong said.

Further information on the incident was not immediately available. The FBI New Haven Office declined to give more details on the incident Friday afternoon.

State Sen. Stephen Harding (R-30) also released a statement on Friday.

"There is no tolerance for these threats. We thank law enforcement, and we are relieved that the Attorney General and his family are safe," Harding said. "These are not ‘pranks’. These are felonies. You will face stiff punishment and prison time if you are caught. Don’t even think about it. That blunt and clear message must be sent repeatedly throughout our state."
