Brooks Brothers Closes Stamford Mall Store
Brooks Brothers has closed its store in the Stamford Town Center mall after over 35 years in business, according to mall officials,
STAMFORD, CT — Brooks Brothers has closed its Stamford Town Center store after more than 38 years in business. The store officially closed June 17, according to Dan Stolzenbach, the mall's general manager.
Brooks Brothers was one of the mall's original tenants when it opened in 1982, Stolzenbach said. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
"As such, we have a very special place in our hearts for Brooks Brothers," Stolzenbach said in an email to Patch, "and we're sorry to see them close due to these unprecedented external factors."

According to their website, Brooks Brothers offers clothing for men, women and children. Founded in 1818, the store recently celebrated its 200th anniversary.
Many of the Brooks Brothers stores across the country remain temporarily closed in response to the spread of the coronavirus, according to the website.

Last month, the Greenwich Time reported Brooks Brothers had permanently closed its women's store in Westport and its full store in Darien. Brooks Brothers still operates a men's store in Westport and a number of other stores in Connecticut, including locations in Greenwich and Danbury.
Recently, the Cheesecake Factory announced it will close its location at the mall's restaurant plaza on Tresser Boulevard. The company said the restaurant is scheduled to close Aug. 1 and all 104 employees will be laid off.
