Building One Community to Host a FREE Health Fair for Immigrants
B1C joins with partners to offer access to many free medical and dental services to Stamford immigrants
Building One Community, the Center for Immigrant Opportunity (B1C) —A variety of FREE health services and practical tips on general health care will be available as part of “Health Day,” an event by Building One Community and co-sponsored by Community Health Center, Inc. in Stamford.
The event will be held Thursday, June 22nd, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Building One Community, 417 Shippan Avenue in Stamford.
Stamford’s immigrant population will be able to access FREE critical medical and dental services. Services offered will include:

- Dental cleaning
- Blood pressure screenings
- Free haircuts with a professional hairstylist and barber
- HIV and Hepatitis C Testing
- Vision screening
- Sign-up opportunities for Husky Health Care coverage for ages 12 and under
We will have several on-site partners, including the City of Stamford Social Services, UCONN College of Agriculture Health and Natural Resources, and Community Health Center, Inc. Other partner community-based organizations will join us to showcase their services and programs.
Due to popular demand, please make appointments for dental cleaning and vision screening by calling 203.674.8585 x127 and following the instructions. Appointments will be determined based on a lottery system.

About Building One Community
Building One Community (also known as B1C) is a nonprofit organization established in 2011 that provides a comprehensive resource center for immigrants in the greater Stamford area. The mission of Building One Community is to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families. Since its inception, the organization has served over 15,250 immigrants from 117 different countries. B1C provides free services that educate, employ, empower, and engage immigrants and the broader community. Programs offered include ELL (English Language) programs, family and individual support services, immigration legal services, and workforce development programs.
