Can't Park There -- Stamford Government Center Parking Garage Work Limits Availability

There’s the old saw ‘You can’t fight city hall.’

Well, in Stamford, you can’t park there either — for at least a month.

The Stamford Government Center parking garage is undergoing repairs that began Saturday, Aug. 2 and are continuing until Sept. 8. That means visitors will find limited parking at the 888 Washington Blvd. facility.

Parking will be limited to the first floor of the garage for most of this period.

The public is encouraged to allot extra time when visiting the Government Center and park at the Bell Street Garage should the first floor be full.

All City of Stamford employees, staff, tenants and vendors will be required to park in the Bell Street Garage until the repairs are complete.

The mayor’s office did not respond to a request for information on what repairs are necessary.
