Charges Filed In Fatal Westport Crash That Killed Stamford Woman
Lisa C. Brown, 51, was killed in the December 2016 crash on the Merritt Parkway in Westport.
STAMFORD, CT — A 41-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on a charge of vehicular manslaughter and other violations in connection with a fatal Merritt Parkway crash in Westport that killed 51-year-old Stamford resident Lisa Brown, reports the Stamford Advocate.
Initially, Donell Alston told police that Brown was driving and he was the passenger in the one-car crash on Dec. 21, 2016. But DNA evidence placed him behind the wheel not Brown, according to authorities.
In addition to second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, Alston also was charged with:

- Making a false statement
- Interfering with police
- Driving under the influence
- Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license
Bail was set at $250,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court in March.
