Community Input Sought on Stamford School Superintendent Search
Four focus groups will be held in coming weeks for community opinion.

Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), the executive search firm recently hired by the Stamford Board of Education, will be conducting focus groups with a wide range of stakeholders, including Stamford Public Schools (SPS) administrators, staff, union leaders , students, community leaders, elected officials, parents and Stamford residents to identify the desired leadership qualities of the next school superintendent.
School Superintendent Winifred Hamilton announced earlier this year that she will retire Dec. 31. An interim superintendent is expected to be appointed while the search is conducted.
Parents are invited to attend one of two Focus Group Sessions:

Interested Stamford residents are invited to attend one of two Focus Group Sessions:
Tuesday, October 27: 7:30 p.m.
Westover Magnet School, 412 Stillwater Ave.
Or
Thursday, October 2: 1 p.m.
Harry Bennett Branch Library, 115 Vine Rd.
Everyone is also encouraged to complete a confidential, on-line survey regarding the qualities of a superintendent, which will be available on the SPS website from Friday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Nov. 9.
