Contract Details For Stamford Superintendent Of Schools Released
Dr. Tamu Lucero's new contract will run through June 30, 2024.
STAMFORD, CT — Under a new contract which will run until June 30 2024, Superintendent of Stamford Public Schools Dr. Tamu Lucero will make a base salary of about $295,000, up from $260,000 in her old contract, according to the Stamford Advocate.
But contributions and fringe benefits will push Lucero's yearly pay to around $406,000, the Advocate said.
Details of Lucero's contract were released on Tuesday after it was approved by the Board of Education last week by a vote of 5-4. Democrat Fritz Cherry, and Republicans Joshua Esses, Becky Hamman and Nicola Tarzia voted no.

Before the vote last week, while several members praised Lucero for her hard work and personality, they objected to a new contract because of concerns about where the school district is heading.
Cherry said he couldn't support a new contract because of the salary increase. He said it would set a bad precedent.
