Cops Recover Illegal Guns, Marijuana; Man Arrested: Stamford PD
Police said they arrested a 28-year-old Stamford man on Jan. 4.

STAMFORD, CT — A 28-year-old man was arrested last week after police say they discovered two illegal guns and marijuana during a search warrant.
Demontae Ruffin, of Stamford, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm; two counts of criminal possession of ammunition; two counts of illegal transfer of a firearm; two counts of violation of a protective order; two counts of illegal possession of a high capacity magazine; and altering ID marks on a firearm, according to Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin.
Ruffin was issued a bond of $150,000 and appeared in court on Jan. 5. The CT Judicial Branch website shows that Ruffin was released.

Conklin said the SPD's Narcotics & Organized Crime Squad conducted an investigation into Ruffin which culminated with search warrants on Jan. 4 for Ruffin's person, car and residence in the 600 block of Atlantic Street.
Officers found a Glock 23 .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol with a high-capacity magazine containing .40 caliber rounds, and a Glock 27 .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol with an obliterated serial number and a high-capacity magazine with .40 caliber rounds, Conklin said.

During the search, officers also found 4 ounces of marijuana, a scale, packaging material and $6,233 in cash, according to Conklin.
Ruffin has several other previous charges that are still pending, Conklin noted.
