Crash Victim From Stamford Dies From Severe Injuries

The woman leaves behind a young son.

GREENWICH, CT—Police are now investigating a fatal crash after a 38-year-old woman passed away from her injuries.
The crash occurred Nov. 19 when a tractor trailer exited I-95 southbound at exit 3 and continued straight across Arch Street to re-enter at exit 3, said Sgt. John Slusarz.

It then collided with a passenger vehicle that was traveling southbound on Arch Street in the westernmost lane.

The Greenwich Fire Department had to forcibly extricate passengers from the vehicle.

Victim Cristina Vomoca died Wednesday from severe head injuries, according to the Stamford Advocate. She leaves behind a son who is nearly 2-years-old.

Passenger Maiko Kobayashi worked with Vomoca at a hair salon and has been moved to a rehabilitation center to recover from injuries. The two were Stamford residents.
