Cushman & Wakefield Raises $83K For DOMUS KIDS Of Stamford

From Cushman & Wakefield: On Tuesday, November 13th, the Cushman & Wakefield Future Leaders (CWFL), a network of rising professionals within the firm that encourages professional development, hosted the 6th Annual Real Estate Bowl-A-Thon at Bowlmor Lanes in Norwalk, CT. This year’s event benefitted Domus Kids, Inc., a $14 million multi-service organization, which serves more than 1,500 youth in school, out-of-school, and juvenile justice programs.

“Community engagement is an important pillar of the Cushman & Wakefield mission,” said Brian Scruton, Director at Cushman & Wakefield, who spearheaded the event with colleagues Steve Baker, Adam Klimek and John Altieri. “Our annual Bowl-A-Thon continues to drive fundraising efforts for extraordinary causes within our local neighborhoods, and we are extremely proud to be assisting the Domus Organization.”

In the Bowl-A-Thon, each team consisted of five to six bowlers, who each played two games in a set amount of time. The top score for each bowler was then used to compute the team’s total number of points. This year’s winning team was from Building and Land Technology. One of the largest landlords in Fairfield County, Building Land and Technology, was not only the Bowlathon winner, but was also the event’s “kingpin” sponsor.

The event was attended by over 175 professionals from Fairfield & Westchester counties, and a total of $83,000 was raised for Domus Kids. During the last 6 years, the Cushman & Wakefield Bowl-A-Thon has raised over $500,000 for various charities throughout the community.
“This wonderful event is an example of the partnerships we’ve made with companies like Cushman & Wakefield who see the value and impact of our work with children and young people,” said Mike Duggan, Domus Executive Director. “In addition to bringing friends together for a fun night of bowling, the event reaffirmed Cushman’s generosity and desire to affect positive change in the Stamford Community.”

Since opening its doors in 1972, Domus has supported vulnerable, high-risk young people to rise above adversity. Through more than a dozen programs, Domus provides academic support, social-emotional skill building, and personal and practical connections to help guide youth through critical junctures in their lives so they may become resilient, positive contributors to their communities. Their vision is clear: that no child shall be denied hope, love, or a fair chance in life.
