Date Set For SoundWaters' 'Tall Ships Ball': Details
The event will support SoundWaters programs that reach over 25,000 students annually.
STAMFORD, CT — SoundWaters, the region’s leader in climate science education, will host its annual Tall Ships Ball on Friday, May 8, at the Riverside Yacht Club.
This year’s event, themed "Tall Ships Ball – The Musical," invites guests to dress as their favorite Broadway characters and enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner, live entertainment and dancing. Taking on the role of producer for the evening is Dave Price, weather forecaster for NBC 4 New York.
"Each year, the Tall Ships Ball allows us to celebrate our mission while engaging the community in a fun and meaningful way," said SoundWaters President Leigh Shemitz in an announcement. "By attending, our supporters directly help provide students with joyful learning experiences on Long Island Sound."

Now in its 28th year, the Tall Ships Ball supports programs that reach over 25,000 students annually. These programs give young people hands-on experiences exploring the Sound, fostering environmental stewardship, scientific literacy and life skills.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner and a program featuring live entertainment by the orchestra Short Bus, and concluding with dancing and a dessert reception.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the Broadway theme and bring their favorite stage characters to life for this special one-night-only event.
