STAMFORD, CT — In an effort to get feedback and community input, the Stamford Public Schools District has scheduled a series of public forums on a plan that addresses current and future needs of city school campuses and facilities.

Earlier this month, a facilities master plan was presented to the Stamford Public Schools District by SLAM, an architecture firm.

The plan laid out several major projects over the next decade, including maintenance work and upgrades to all school buildings in the district, plus the closing of four schools. The plan also suggested the construction of a new south Stamford School, and the changing of Hart, Roxbury and Westover to K-8 schools.

"We encourage you to attend one of our upcoming public forums to learn more about this master plan, hear from experts, and ask questions," said Justin Martin, public affairs officer for SPS, in a recent announcement. "While each of the meetings has a theme, they will provide the same opening presentation and provide time for questions and answers regardless of the theme."
