Director Of Finance Named For Stamford Public Schools
He will be responsible for managing all of the district's financial resources, according to school officials.
STAMFORD, CT — Superintendent Tamu Lucero and the Stamford Board of Education announced Thursday that Ryan Fealey has been named the district's director of finance. He was appointed to the position at the board's regular meeting on Feb. 25, and will start the position March 16.
In his new position, Fealey will be responsible for managing all of the district's financial resources, including planning, budgeting and forecasting, as well financial reporting and accounting, according to a statement from the district.
"I am excited to join the leadership team at SPS, and to work with Dr. Lucero and her administration toward providing a first-class education for every student," Fealey said in a statement. "As a parent, I know that schools are the heart of Stamford, and I look forward to making a positive impact."

For the past 11 years, Fealey has served as the vice president of finance at Taurus Alternative Strategies, LLC, in White Plains, N.Y.
At Taurus, Fealey had a wide range of responsibilities, including directing the operations and finances for a portfolio of entities in excess of $80 million, as well as managing capital budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and credit acquisitions. Prior to his role at Taurus, he worked in commercial real estate and in corporate law.

"The hiring committee believed that Ryan stood out among the more than 50 applicants who applied for this position," Lucero said in a statement. "Upon meeting him, I could see how his broad private sector financial experience could be an asset in helping us develop new and innovative ideas to control costs while still providing our students a quality educational experience."
Fealey holds a bachelor of arts from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., a master of arts from John Jay College in New York City and a master of business administration, with an advanced certificate in financial management, from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He is also a CFA charter holder and a certified financial planning and analysis professional.
Fealey is a Stamford resident and an active member of the Westover Elementary School community, where two of his three children currently attend school.
