Levels of asbestos were found in connection with a planned renovation project, according to the city.
STAMFORD, CT — The Yerwood Center in Stamford will close for six weeks after the detection of asbestos in the building, according to an announcement from the city.
The closure began on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Levels of asbestos were found in connection with a planned renovation project.
"The City of Stamford commissioned a third-party air quality test, and the results indicated that the air quality was within safe standards, allowing for continued occupancy of the building," the city said in an announcement Wednesday.
