Family Displaced By House Fire In Stamford On Valentine's Day: FD

There was extensive fire damage to the living room and dining room areas, with smoke and water damage throughout, fire officials said.

STAMFORD, CT — A family of three was displaced by a house fire that broke out in Stamford on Valentine's Day, according to the Stamford Fire Department.

A 911 call came in at 5:38 p.m. on Feb. 14 reporting a house on fire in the 70 block of Loughran Avenue, the SFD said in a news release.

Arriving units found heavy fire venting from the front door of a one-and-a-half story home, and crews began to extinguish flames in the living and dining room areas, the SFD noted.

The home was vented for smoke and firefighters searched for any occupants. The blaze was placed under control at 6:07 p.m.

Two occupants of the home were checked for smoke inhalation and they were released from the scene; no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported, the SFD said.

Overall, 30 firefighters responded to the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal's Office.
