Fights At Westhill High School Result In Arrests: Stamford Police

Officers responded to the school Friday on reports of several fights involving students, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — Several juvenile students were arrested Friday in connection with "minor physical altercations" at Westhill High School, according to the Stamford Police Department.

Officers responded to the school at approximately 12:23 p.m. Friday on reports of several fights involving students, police said in a Facebook post.

"The situation was quickly brought under control by responding officers and school staff," police said. "Several juveniles were arrested in connection with the incident. There is no ongoing threat to the school or surrounding community."

The incident was not related to any other events, according to police, including a separate incident that took place at Stillmeadow Elementary School Friday afternoon in which officers responded to reports of a vehicle explosion.

Two juveniles were taken into custody following a chase that ended in several vehicle collisions at High Ridge Park, police said.
