Anabel Figueroa Rescinds Resignation From Stamford Board Of Reps.: Report
Also this week, the Stamford Democratic City Committee voted to hold an expulsion hearing to potentially remove Figueroa as a member.

STAMFORD, CT — State Rep. Anabel Figueroa (D-148) has rescinded her resignation from the Stamford Board of Representatives, according to a report from the Stamford Advocate.
Figueroa, who resigned from the board on Aug. 16, did not submit her resignation to Mayor Caroline Simmons per the city's charter, and she later took back her decision to step down, the Advocate noted.
Also this week, the Democratic City Committee voted in favor of holding a hearing to determine if there is "good cause" to expel Figueroa from the DCC.

It's unclear when the expulsion hearing will be.
A member of the Stamford Board of Reps. in District 8 since 2001, Figueroa has been mired in controversy since comments she made in an interview with the Latino Foundation of Stamford came to light on Aug. 13, which was Primary Day across Connecticut.

In a video, which was posted to YouTube by the foundation on July 28, Figueroa said, translated to English, "The Hispanic vote is going to determine on Aug. 13 who will win to represent or who will continue to represent you. We cannot permit a person who is of Jewish origin, of Jewish origin, to represent our community. It’s impossible."
Figueroa lost her primary race to DCC-endorsed candidate and member of the Board of Representatives, Jonathan Jacobson.
Elected officials have condemned Figueroa's comments as antisemitic and they've demanded her to resign from her posts. The Advocate reported that House Leaders have stripped her of her committee assignments in Hartford.
