STAMFORD, CT — Firefighters battled a blaze at a Waterside home on the afternoon of Aug. 19, according to a news release from the Stamford Fire Department.
At 12:07 p.m. Monday, a passerby reported flames coming from the roof of a home in the 90 block of Dolphin Cove Quay. Units from the West Side Fire Station found fire coming from the attic of the single-family home, fire officials said, noting the first engine arrived in four minutes.
Firefighters attacked the fire from both inside the attic and the exterior, halting the rapid spread of fire along the wood shingle roof, fire officials noted. The owner was not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to fire department personnel.
