STAMFORD, CT — A kitchen fire broke out at a Stamford apartment on Tuesday afternoon on Summer Street, causing heavy smoke damage, according to the Stamford Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
The tenant, who was away at the time, noticed the fire in the beginning stages on her Ring security camera around 1:30 p.m., and called for help, Assistant Fire Marshal Robert Martino told Patch.
Units arrived within minutes to the apartment building in the 600 block of Summer Street and extinguished the flames. Martino said the fire originated from a small kitchen appliance, but an investigation is ongoing by the Stamford Fire Marshal's Office.
