Former Stamford Resident Reportedly Killed In Police Shootout

He had barricaded himself in a condo in Amelia Island, Florida.

STAMFORD, CT — Jason Raffaeli, a 25-year-old former Stamford resident, was killed in a shootout with police early Wednesday at a condo complex in Amelia Island, Florida, reports News4Jax.com.

Raffaeli had barricaded himself inside a condo, which prompted a standoff with Nassau County sheriffs, when he reportedly opened fire and was shot and killed.

In Stamford, Raffaeli was arrested last year on a weapons charge after he was caught carrying a pistol without a permit. He survived being shot multiple times during an incident in Stamford in 2016, writes the Stamford Advocate.
