Free Youth Mental Health Trainings Upcoming In Stamford
The full-day program is designed for parents, educators, coaches and others who work with youth.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Youth Mental Health Alliance is offering a series of free youth mental health first aid training sessions in the coming weeks aimed at helping adults recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges among young people.
The full-day program is designed for parents, educators, coaches and others who work with youth. The training provides tools to identify warning signs, respond appropriately and connect young people with professional support.
According to Mental Health First Aid USA, training adults to recognize and respond to youth mental health challenges can increase confidence and improve connections to appropriate care.

Sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12; Wednesday, March 25; and Wednesday, April 22, each running from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All sessions will be held at Park 215, 215 Stillwater Ave., in Stamford.
The trainings are free, though space is limited. Lunch will be provided, and advanced registration is required by emailing youthmentalhealthct@gmail.com.

The program is sponsored by the Stamford Youth Mental Health Alliance, a network of more than 35 organizations that work to improve access to mental health services for children and adolescents.
The alliance's efforts focus on increasing awareness of youth mental wellness, expanding access to inclusive care and building a coordinated system of support for families.
