• Final Report Issued On Use Of Deadly Force By Stamford Police In Barricaded Standoff (patch.com) — Stamford residents are learning more about last December's tense barricaded standoff on Oaklawn Avenue, as the state inspector general ruled three city officers were legally justified in firing at armed resident Jed Parkington. The report details hours of negotiations, explosive devices, heavy gunfire directed at police Bearcats, and the later discovery of a deceased tenant inside the home, while confirming Parkington ultimately died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
   

• Stamford plans to put $1 million in unspent federal funds toward community center sprinklers (stamfordadvocate.com) — Stamford officials plan to redirect about $1 million in unspent federal Community Development Block Grant funds to install a fire sprinkler system at the Lathon Wider Community Center on Henry Street. The move is aimed at bringing the city back into compliance with HUD timeliness rules, protecting nearly $1 million in annual funding that supports local housing and community development needs.
