Garage Fire Breaks Out In Stamford: Fire Department
The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire, which occurred Thursday night.

STAMFORD, CT — A garage fire broke out in the South End of Stamford Thursday night and threatened a nearby apartment building, but firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze and prevent serious damage.
At 10:06 p.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire in the area of the 70 block of Henry Street, the Stamford Fire Department said in a news release.
First-arriving units found a detached garage on Lipton Place "well-involved in fire" and rapidly extending to the rear of a four-story apartment building on Henry Street, fire officials said.

An quick attack contained the fire to the garage structure, the SFD said. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes.
"The immediate actions of the first-arriving firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire and prevent significant damage to the rear of the apartment building on Henry Street," Deputy Chief Matt Palmer said in a news release.

All occupants of the Henry Street apartment building were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported to firefighters, the SFD said.
