STAMFORD, CT — A Bridgeport man who was arrested last month in connection with an armed robbery in Fairfield is now facing additional charges from an incident in Stamford.
Wesner Thelamour, 40, who was already in custody, was brought to Stamford on April 15 where he was arrested on a warrant and charged with criminal attempt at first-degree robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit, according to Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin.
On March 2 at approximately 7:05 p.m., a masked man dressed in black walked into Monjas Express at 592 Cove Road in Stamford and displayed a handgun, Conklin said.

A customer fled the store yelling for help, and the masked man left without taking anything after there appeared to be a language barrier issue with the cashier, Conklin said.
Around 9 p.m. the same night, Fairfield police were called to News Express at 200 Tunxis Hill Road after receiving a report of a robbery in progress. Investigators said a masked person entered the store, displayed a handgun, demanded money from an employee and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Stamford Det. Daniel Oliva worked with Fairfield police on an investigation, and on March 9, the suspect was identified as Thelamour, Conklin said.
Fairfield and Stamford authorities then executed a search warrant at Thelamour's home and arrested him after he left the residence, Conklin said.
Officers found Thelamour in possession of a pistol consistent with the weapon used in the robberies, in a white bag with a ski mask inside, Conklin added.
Thelamour was charged at the time with carrying a pistol without a permit.
Police subsequently identified Thelamour's vehicle - a red 2021 Mazda CX5 - as the suspect vehicle in both cases, Conklin said.
Thelamour was arrested on a warrant in Fairfield on March 25 and charged with first-degree robbery with a firearm and second-degree larceny, according to police.
Thelamour was issued a court-set bond of $500,000 in the Stamford case. He's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 2.
