Here's How To Get Your 2026 Beach Permit In Stamford

Permits are now available online, in person or by mail. Here's how much they cost.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford residents and visitors planning to use the city’s beaches and parks this summer can begin purchasing 2026 beach permits online, in person or by mail, with permits required for access from May 1 through Sept. 30, the city said in an announcement.

Beach and park permits are available for purchase at Revenue Services, located on the first floor of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., or through the city’s online permit portal. Applications may also be submitted by mail.

Those applying by mail must send a photocopy of their current vehicle registration, the driver’s license of the registered vehicle owner, a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check payable to the City of Stamford. The permit will be mailed back once processed.

Fees vary based on residency, age and where a vehicle is registered.

For vehicles registered in Stamford, the permit fee is $26.59. Senior residents pay $7.44. Applicants must provide proof of valid vehicle registration, and seniors must also show identification.

For Stamford residents with vehicles registered outside the city, the permit costs $116.99, while senior residents pay $37.22. In addition to vehicle registration, applicants must show proof of residency, such as a utility bill, W-2 form or pay stub.

Nonresidents may purchase a seasonal pass for $292.46 with proof of valid vehicle registration.

Active-duty military members, veterans and their spouses who are Stamford residents are eligible for free permits with proof of service. Acceptable documentation includes a driver’s license with a military designation, DD214 form or other veteran identification.

Military spouses must provide a copy or photo of a marriage certificate.

Residents who pay by credit or debit card online or in person will be charged a $3.50 convenience fee.
