Here's The Timeline For The Budget Process In Stamford
Budget season is going to go into full swing in Stamford in the coming weeks.

STAMFORD, CT — The budget process in Stamford is set to go into full swing this week.
Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons was scheduled to present her proposed city budget on Wednesday night. For the rest of March and into April, departments and agencies will present budgets to the Board of Finance and the Board of Representatives Fiscal Committee.
Here is a condensed timeline:

- April 3, 6:30 p.m.: The Board of Education will present to the Board of Finance.
- April 8, 7 p.m.: A joint Board of Finance and Board of Representatives budget public hearing will take place on Zoom only.
- April 16, 7 p.m.: A special Board of Finance meeting to act on the Mayor's proposed budget is scheduled
- May 1, 8 p.m.: The BOR will hold a special budget meeting to vote on the spending plans.
- May 14: The Board of Finance will meet to set the mill rate. The mill rate is used to calculate property and vehicle tax.
