Instrumental Music Instruction To Return For Grades 4-8: Lucero
Superintendent of Stamford Public Schools Dr. Tamu Lucero made the announcement last Friday.
STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero announced last Friday that instrumental music instruction in grades 4-8 will return, with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and social distancing measures in place.
Such instruction has been taking place in high school since last spring, with teachers using PPE and outdoor spaces for rehearsals and performances.
"Over the past several weeks, we have placed large orders of instruments to meet the requests of our students. Unfortunately, there are supply chain issues with certain instruments and particular brands of instruments," Lucero said in her weekly message to the district last Friday. "Please be assured that we are working with our vendors to fill our orders as quickly as possible and instruments are being delivered as they become available."
