Judith (Chris) Diane Plomitallo: Former Central Middle School Math Teacher
The long-time Stamford resident passed away Oct. 3 at the age of 69.

Judith (Chris) Diane Plomitallo, of Stamford, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at Stamford Hospital with all of her children by her side.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1945 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Jerome and Geraldine Christopherson.

She is a graduate of Ames High School and St. Olaf College and received dual degrees in Spanish and education.
On Aug.1, 1970, she married Dr. Anthony V. Plomitallo in Ames, IA. Together they resided and started a family in Stamford. She was a teacher of mathematics at Central Junior High School in Greenwich.

She was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, a supporter of the Girl Scouts and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford. She enjoyed her job working as the Executive Director of the Angeles T. Arredondo Foundation and found happiness in helping others. She also enjoyed music, traveling, cooking, gardening, tutoring and entertaining.
Chris was a true friend to all. She always embraced life and found joy and happiness in everyone and everything.
Chris is predeceased by her husband, Tony, and survived by four children: Geralyn Plomitallo, Deborah Melkonian (Dorian), Karen Gonillo (Josh), and Douglas Plomitallo (Alice), and five grandchildren: Zachary Plomitallo, Amber Plomitallo, Gianna Gonillo, Kate Melkonian and Wesley Melkonian. She is also survived by her brother Dennis Christopherson of Billings, MT.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 at Shippan’s Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home located at 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford, (next to Knights of Columbus). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford on 1101 Bedford St. in celebration of Chris’s life.
