Kitchen Fire Damages Stamford Apartment
No one was injured by the cooking oil fire that spread when a resident reportedly threw water on the fire.

A Lawn Avenue apartment was rendered uninhabitable following a kitchen fire Wednesday evening that spread when a resident threw water on flaming cooking oil, according to a report.
More than two dozen Stamford firefighters responded to the 7:06 p.m. fire in an apartment at 1 Lawn Ave., according to The Advocate.
No one was injured in the fire that was fueled when a resident tried to extinguish a flaming pan of oil with water, according to the report. The three residents are being sheltered with the help of the American Red Cross, according to The Advocate report that can be found here.
