Large Amount Of Drugs, Ammunition Found; Man Charged: Stamford Police
Drugs and ammo were found at two locations, police said. Stamford PD and the Drug Enforcement Agency collaborated on the investigation.

STAMFORD, CT — A large amount of drugs and ammunition was seized at two separate locations in Stamford Thursday, prompting the arrest of a 48-year-old man, according to police.
Samuel Elie, who goes by the nickname "Drop," was arrested around 3 p.m. Wednesday outside of his Ivy Street home on the West Side, Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin told Patch.
A multi-convicted felon, according to Conklin, Elie "has been operating at a very high level selling a wide assortment of different drugs, including crack cocaine, powder cocaine, fentanyl, and ecstasy."

Members of the Stamford Police Department's Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency on the investigation, and authorities conducted two search warrants on Wednesday - one on Ivy Street and another at an apartment in the 100-block of Hoyt Street.
Officers found 54.4 grams of crack cocaine; 5.2 grams of powder cocaine; 81 folds of fentanyl; 50 oxycodone pills; a crushed-up bag of ecstasy pills; packaging materials; a scale; and $6,200 in cash at the Ivy Street residence, Conklin said.

At the apartment on Hoyt Street, which police believe was used as more of a "stash house," officers recovered 113 grams of loose fentanyl; 130 folds of fentanyl; 20.5 grams of powder cocaine; 170.6 grams of crack cocaine; packaging materials; a scale; a high-capacity handgun magazine containing seven 9mm rounds; a .40 caliber round; and a box containing 42 .380 caliber rounds, according to Conklin.
An arrest warrant charged Elie with three counts of sale of narcotics, which stemmed from the investigation, Conklin said, and the charges came with a court-set bond of $250,000.
However, because Elie is on parole until November 2025 due to prior convictions, he was remanded to custody and he's unable to make bond, Conklin said.
"As time and resources allow, we'll craft arrest warrants for all these other charges and file them somewhere down the road," Conklin said. "This was a very nice job by narcotics and organized crime working in conjunction with the DEA Task Force"
The SPD has an officer assigned to the task force, which operates out of Bridgeport.
Elie is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 5.
