Layoff Totals Increase At Marriott In Stamford: Report

The hotelier is adding to the layoffs it announced in the fall.

STAMFORD, CT — The layoffs are continuing at Marriott International with the hotelier announcing this week that it intends to layoff another half dozen executives in Stamford after January, reports the Stamford Advocate.

The newly announced staff reduction is added to the more than 100 layoffs the company announced in the fall. Since acquiring Starwood in 2016, Marriott has let go of nearly 400 employees.

Marriott says it plans to continue its reorganization in 2018, and that the employees in this round of layoffs are applying for different roles within the company.
