HS Basketball Coach Arrested On Drug Charges Resigns: Update
He was arrested by Stamford police over the weekend.

STAMFORD, CT — A 30-year-old youth basketball coach, who coached at Westhill High School and was recently hired to coach at New Canaan High School, was arrested over the weekend on narcotics charges after Stamford police found him with 20 folds of heroin, writes the Stamford Advocate.
Arrested on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia was Jose Amor, of Davenport Drive. He was arrested at a gas station on West Avenue in Stamford after a witness told police he was appeared to be acting suspiciously.

As of Monday, Amor reportedly resigned from his assistant coaching job in New Canaan. He had passed a background check before being hired, according to Athletic Director Jay Egan.
Amor lost his job at Westhill in 2016 after he was accused of interfering with police after he tipped off one of his players that authorities were looking for him in connection with a shooting, according to the publication.
