Man Accused Of Stealing Guns From Local Storage Units: Stamford Police
A 36-year-old man faces multiple felony charges, including 47 counts of theft of a firearm, police said.

STAMFORD, CT — A 36-year-old man has been arrested and accused of stealing guns from local storage units, according to an announcement from the Stamford Police Department.
Joshua Casiano, of the Bronx, N.Y., was extradited to Connecticut on March 3 where he faces multiple felony charges, including larceny, burglary, conspiracy to commit larceny, and 47 counts of theft of a firearm. Casiano was given a court-set bond of $1 million.
On Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, the Stamford Police Patrol Division responded to reports of burglaries at two storage facilities — CubeSmart on Shippan Avenue, and Extra Space Storage on West Main Street, police said.

Officers found storage containers that had been "forcibly entered, and firearms had been stolen."
Following a "meticulous investigation" from the SPD Bureau of Criminal Investigations Property Unit, Casiano was identified as a primary suspect, police said.

Casiano was arrested after a joint effort between Stamford investigators, the FBI and NYPD, police said. A search warrant at Casiano's Bronx home recovered several stolen handguns and other evidence linking him to the crimes, police added.
"The Stamford Police Department commends the diligent work of its investigators and the cooperation of federal and local law enforcement agencies in ensuring that those responsible for serious crimes are brought to justice," police said.
