Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Motorcycle Accident: Police
A 17-year-old Stamford resident was killed in a motorcycle accident last November.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department announced on Wednesday that a 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a motorcycle accident that killed a 17-year-old Stamford resident on Nov. 22, 2021.
Police said Edin Martinez-Peralta, of Stamford, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle. He was being held on a $100,000 court-set bond, and if he's released, arraignment will take place in court on Feb. 2.
On Nov. 22, 2021 around 9:20 p.m., police said a 1997 Honda Shadow motorcycle, driven by the 17-year-old, collided with a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck on Elm Street at the intersection of North State Street in Stamford.

At the time of the accident, on-scene investigators found that Martinez-Peralta did not have a valid driver's license, registration or insurance, according to police.
He was issued a misdemeanor summons for the violations and was released on a written promise to appear in court on Dec. 3, 2021.
According to a news release from Sgt. Jeffrey Booth on Wednesday, Supervisor of the SPD's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad (CARS), the investigation into the crash showed that Martinez-Peralta made a left turn in front of the victim, impeding his path of travel.
The victim tried to stop but was unable to, and collided with the side of the Nissan, Booth said.
Officer Lindsey Yanicky applied for an arrest warrant for Martinez-Peralta, which was recently granted by Stamford Superior Court.
