Man Arrested After Nearly 8-Hour Standoff With Police: Stamford PD
The incident prompted the closure of High Ridge Road for several hours on Nov. 11, police said.
STAMFORD, CT — A 36-year-old Stamford man was arrested and charged on Nov. 11 after a nearly eight-hour standoff with police that prompted the closure of High Ridge Road for several hours, the Stamford Police Department said in a news release.
Stephan Gale was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless burning, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct, police said.
On Nov. 11 shortly after 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of High Ridge Road on a report of a disturbance at a home.

Officers were "confronted" by a man who was "engaging in threatening behavior," police said in a news release.
Officers worked for approximately seven-and-a-half hours on the call and eventually arrested Gale, police said, noting that officers from the SPD's negotiating team were involved.

The department's behavioral health unit, K9 unit and the Southwest Emergency Response Team were also at the scene.
Gale was given a $25,000 bond and a court date of Nov. 13.
