Man Charged with Killing Stamford Wife: PD
Police began investigating after a 6-year-old girl was found alone at a bus stop in New York.

STAMFORD, CT — Police charged Elmer Gomez-Ruano with the murder of his estranged wife.
Bond was set at $900,000 and Ruano is due in court Dec. 23, according to NBC Connecticut.

That led Stamford Police to check in on the girl's mother, Dionicia Cano Bautista, 24, at her Courtland Avenue apartment.
There police found Bautista dead in an apparent domestic incident. She had moved to Stamford just days prior from New Jersey.

The daughter has been placed with a foster family and it isn't clear whether she witnessed the dispute or murder, police said. Ruano was arrested by law enforcement in New York and was extradited to Connecticut.
