Man Who Claimed He Was Shot At Stamford Train Station Arrested: Police
Police said they arrested a 27-year-old man Monday and charged him as a fugitive from justice.

STAMFORD, CT — A 27-year-old man who claimed he was shot in the leg at the Stamford Train Station on Monday afternoon was arrested later in the day and charged as a fugitive of justice in connection with an incident in New York City, according to Stamford police.
Ryan Bourne, who gave police an address in Flanders, N.J., went to the Stamford Hospital Emergency Room on Monday at 12:05 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the leg, Conklin said.
Bourne told hospital staff he was shot while getting off an Amtrak train in Stamford, and he repeated the same story to police, Conklin said.

"Luckily at that time of day it's a pretty active area," Conklin said of the Stamford Transportation Center, noting the department recieved no other calls about a shooting.
Investigators contacted Metro-North police, who confirmed there were no reports of a shooting, Conklin said.

"We had strong doubts about this shooting taking place as this victim claims," Conklin added.
As the investigation continued throughout the day Monday, Conklin said Stamford police learned from the New York City Police Department that a shooting occurred in the area covered by the 47th Precinct about an hour before Bourne came into Stamford Hospital. The 47th Precinct covers the northern section of The Bronx.
The NYPD then obtained an arrest warrant for Bourne, Conklin said, and after Bourne was treated and released Monday evening, Stamford police arrested him and charged him as a fugitive from justice.
Bond was set at $500,000. Bourne is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 30.
Bourne's clothing and photos of his injuries were taken as evidence, Conklin said.
The NYPD did not immediately return a request for more information Tuesday afternoon.
