New Associate Superintendent For School Development Named In Stamford
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tamu Lucero announced the appointment of Dr. Lori Rhodes.
STAMFORD, CT — Superintendent of Stamford Public Schools Dr. Tamu Lucero is announced this week that Dr. Lori Rhodes has been named associate superintendent for school development.
"I am absolutely thrilled to have Lori as a member of the district’s senior leadership team," Lucero said in a news release from the district. "She has a strong understanding of Stamford’s schools, is well-respected by her colleagues and the community, and is passionate about public education."
In her new role, the district said Rhodes will be responsible for managing student discipline in collaboration with principals, overseeing programs affiliated with family and community engagement, alternative education and summer schools, adult education and co-curricular activities, coaching and/or mentoring and supervising principals, and developing and monitoring school improvement plans.

Her specific duties will include coaching, supervising and evaluating principals, designing and implementing family and community engagement programs and managing the adult, preK, alternative, and co-curricular programs.
Rhodes spent the past year as director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, and previously worked in a variety of school leadership positions in California, including principal, assistant principal and associate director of small school development.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Binghamton University, and two master’s degrees, one in curriculum and teaching from Columbia University, and a second in history from Stanford University. She also earned her doctoral degree in history of education from Stanford University.
