New Pickleball Courts Approved For Stamford Park
The Stamford Zoning Board unanimously approved the plans on May 18.
STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Zoning Board earlier this week unanimously approved plans from the City of Stamford Engineering Department to improve the sports facilities at Cove Island Park.
According to the plans and Stamford's Principal Planner Vineeta Mathur, three new tennis courts will be built, along with two new pickleball courts. The basketball court will be resurfaced.
Additionally, the plans call for a new ADA-compliant pedestrian connection between the parking lot and the tennis courts.

"That's the scope: improving the existing sports facilities and making them more accessible," Mathur said.
The improvements will be focused on the western side of the park just off the parking lot.
