New Principal, Assistant Principal Named To Stamford Schools

Both appointments will take effect on July 1.

STAMFORD, CT - From Stamford Public Schools: Superintendent Stamford Public School (SPS) Earl Kim and the Stamford Board of Education (BOE) announced the appointment of Jaimie Fisco as Assistant Principal K.T. Murphy Elementary School and Matthew Laskowski as Principal Rippowam Middle School. Both appointments will be effective on July 1, 2018.

Fisco has held the role of Administrative Intern at Toquam Elementary School for the past year. She began her teaching career in Stamford in 2005 and has served as an SRBI support teacher at Newfield Elementary School and as a Special Education teacher at Stillmeadow Elementary School. Fisco holds a 6th Year Certificate in Administration and Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University and earned a dual Master of Arts in Education and Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Connecticut.

Laskowski has been serving as interim principal at Rippowam since October 2017. He had held the position of assistant principal at Stamford High School since August 2015, and before that worked in the Danbury Public Schools district for 10 years at both the high school and middle school levels. Laskowski holds a 6th Year Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership from the University of New England, a Master of Science in Special Education from Western Connecticut State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Springfield College.

Both appointments were expected to be made at the April 24, 2018, Regular Board Meeting, but due to a lack of a BOE quorum the votes could not be taken at that meeting.
