Obituary: Marie Rose Rich, 90, Of Stamford
Marie was a gentle, caring, and generous person who touched the lives of everyone she met.

Marie Rose Rich, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023, at the age of 90 in Stamford, CT. Marie was born on March 10, 1933, in Stamford, CT to the late Frank and Helen Compolattaro.
Marie was a gentle, caring, and generous person who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was known as “Mama Marie” to friends and guests because she treated everyone like family. Her warmth and hospitality were felt by all who entered her home. Marie took great pride in her role as a mother and wife having raised six children, Donna Bria, Ronald F. Rich, Laurie Angelastro and her husband Pete, Marisa R. Cuomo, Jennifer M. Polidoro, and Patricia Couch Terenzio. She was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, Ronald F. Rich, Jr. (Stacie), Shannon Rich, Peter Angelastro (Monica), Julie Bria-Krafick (Tom), Amy Angelastro, Lindsey Hochman (Matt), Justine Cuomo, Courteney Cuomo (Noah), Christopher Polidoro, Jenne Polidoro, Jessalyn Couch, Aidan Terenzio. And 11 great grandchildren, Ronald Rich, Tyler Rich, Kevin Bria, Josephine Bria, Jack Angelastro, Penelope Angelastro, Maribella Melia, Leo Couch, Lyla Couch, Miles Cuomo Levine and Cedar Hockman, whom she adored.

Marie had a special bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, finding joy in their presence. She cherished the time spent with them and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Marie’s love and guidance will forever be treasured by her family.
Marie is survived by her brother Frank G. Compolattaro Jr., and his wife Sharon; sister-in-law Lynn R. Whitman, and her husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband Ronald R. Rich; infant daughter Anne Patrice; brother Richard Compolattaro; and sister, Connie Casale.

Family and close friends will gather on Friday, December 22nd, 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford CT. Following the service, Marie will be laid to rest at Queen of Peace cemetery, 124 Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a cause that was close to Marie’s heart.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Lacerenza Macari Family Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours.
Marie Rose Rich will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.
