Oil Spill Cleanup Continues On Stamford Road, Officials Say
A truck spilled around 2,300 gallons of heating oil on Jan. 8.
STAMFORD, CT — Work to remediate an oil spill that occurred in Stamford on Farms Road over a month ago is continuing this week, according to a Thursday update from officials.
"Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) has announced that due to the ongoing oil spill clean up, Farms Road will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until February 27," Mayor Caroline Simmons said in a Facebook post.

CT-DEEP spokesperson Bill Flood told Patch the removal of contaminated soil and material had to be paused due to heavy snow, but with warmer temperatures in recent days, that process by a contractor has resumed.
