Partial Ceiling Collapse Injures 2 At Apartment: Stamford FD

Firefighters responded to an apartment building at 18 Pulaski St. on Thursday night on a report of a collapsed ceiling, fire officials said.

STAMFORD, CT — Two people were injured on Thursday night after a partial ceiling collapse occurred in a kitchen inside an apartment located at 18 Pulaski St. in Stamford, according to fire officials. The incident happened around 8 p.m.

Stamford Assistant Fire Marshal David Francis said two people were taken to Stamford Hospital and treated for minor injuries; Francis did not have an update on their status Friday morning.

According to the Stamford Advocate, three families were displaced due to the collapse. The Advocate reported that the Red Cross has provided temporary shelter.

Francis said the matter is now being handled by the Stamford Building Department.
