Police Personnel Identified in Stamford Police-Involved Shooting

The incident ended with a 25-year-old being shot. His death was ruled a suicide by the Office of the State Medical Examiner.

STAMFORD, CT- State Police have released the identities of two officers that fired shots during a SWAT negotiation in the city that ended with the death of a 25-year-old city man on March 21.

Lt. Christopher Baker, a 16-year veteran of the department and Sgt. Steven Perrotta, a 12-year veteran were identified as the personnel that fired shots after an hour-long intense negotiation deteriorated at 119 Wedgemere Rd., according to State police.

The State Medical Examiner's Office ruled Pape's death as a suicide due to a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Stamford Police got a 911 call reporting that the man later identified as Dylan Pape had a gun and was threatening harm.

Police set-up a perimeter and began negotiations with Pape to resolve the issue, but the situation eventually deteriorated and the two Stamford SWAT members discharged their weapons and struck Pape, according to State Police.

Pape was taken to the hospital and was pronounced deceased.

Both officers were placed on modified duty per Stamford Police's department policy.
