Police Presence Increased At Stamford Schools: SPD
The Stamford Police Department said there will be more of a police presence at schools around the city "in the coming days."

STAMFORD, CT — Beginning Wednesday and "in the coming days," according to the Stamford Police Department, there will be increased police presence around Stamford Public Schools.
The decision was made following the shooting in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday that left 19 students and two teachers dead at an elementary school.
School districts around Connecticut have decided to increase police visibility at schools out of an abundance of caution, NBC Connecticut reported.

"As we all process the horror that occurred in Uvalde, TX yesterday, we want our community to know we are there for them. We are vigilant," the SPD said on Facebook Wednesday. "Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families, friends and communities dealing with this tragedy."
