Police Seize $34K Worth Of PCP In Stamford: PD

Stamford police said they seized drugs and packaging materials and arrested a 49-year-old city man last week.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford police say they seized $34,000 worth of phencyclidine (PCP) and arrested a 49-year-old city man following an investigation into the possible distribution of the drug and other hallucinogens in the community.

Trevor Whittingham was arrested on Dec. 26 and charged with possession of a hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell, and operating a drug factory, according to police.

Search warrants were executed last Thursday at Whittingham's Ledge Lane home and two vehicles. With the help of a K-9, officers recovered 56 ounces of liquid PCP, an ounce of mint leaves soaked in PCP, 147 ecstasy pills, two scales, packaging materials, a money counter, and $2,822 in U.S. currency, police said.

Whittingham's 2010 Lexus RX350 and a 2007 Lincoln Navigator were also seized and brought back to Stamford police headquarters, police noted.

Police said on Facebook PCP "is an extremely dangerous hallucinogen that can cause severe psychological and physical effects, including hallucinations, aggression, memory loss, and life-threatening health issues. Use of PCP poses significant risks not only to the user but also to the safety of others."

The department praised the officers who worked on the investigation, saying, "This seizure is a step toward keeping Stamford safer."

Whittingham was given a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 9.
