Rally Planned In Stamford To Oppose Trump 'Zero Tolerance' Policy

Indivisible Stamford Plus and other groups will rally on June 30 against President Trump's immigration policies.

STAMFORD, CT — Indivisible Stamford Plus, Coalition of Residents and Immigrants in Solidarity and other groups will join together at the Stamford Government Center at 10 a.m. on June 30 to protest against the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance policy on immigration, the groups announced.

"The administration’s policy has traumatized little children and their parents who are fleeing dangerous situations in their countries by forcefully breaking up the families in the name of national security," wrote organizers in a statement. "While President Trump, yielding to the public outcry, recently signed an executive order to end family separation, the solution being proposed is to detain them together while parents are prosecuted as criminals.

"This is not a solution. Family jails are not OK. Criminally prosecuting undocumented immigrants is inhumane and unacceptable."

They are calling on the administration to rescind its zero-tolerance policy towards immigrants, and also make sure that every one of the more than 2,300 children separated from their parents by the administration is reunited.
