Report: Postal Service Leases New Downtown Stamford Site

The downtown postal facility was closed two years ago.

It looks like downtown Stamford will get is post office back.

Nearly two years after the U.S. Postal Service closed the historic facility at 421 Atlantic St., downtown should have a new location by next spring, according to The Advocate.

A postal service spokesman confirmed that the agency has leased a 3,000 square foot former bank building at 550 Summer St. The new facility with have three full-service counters and space for more than 1,000 post office boxes, according to The Advocate report that can be found here.

Until the Summer Street location opens, customers can use the West Avenue facility.
