Report: Stamford Middle School Teacher Dies in Apparent Suicide
A popular middle school science teacher has died after an apparent jump from an I-95 overpass, according to a report.

A popular Stamford Middle School teacher is dead, apparently after jumping from an I-95 overpass in Stamford on Wednesday, according to reports.
Cloonan Middle School Sal Buchetto, known for his hands-on science experiments, jumped off an Interstate 95 overpass Wednesday morning in an apparent suicide, according to CTPost.com.
For 38 years, Buchetto was an eighth-grade science teacher at Cloonan, retiring four years ago. Buchetto reportedly jumped from the southbound side of the Exit 9 overpass onto the highway about 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Connecticut State police found him on the highway and despite their efforts to perform CPR, he was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital, according to the report that can be found here.

One person posting a comment on the story said, “so very, very sad. A great teacher who had a positive affect on the lives of hundreds and hundreds of kids in Stamford.”
