Rick’s practice is a one-stop-shop for enhancing athletic and human performance with a fully-equipped facility to include dedicated areas for strength, metabolic conditioning, stretching and four Olympic platforms. Olympic weightlifting, Stebbins believes is at the core of sustainable strength training and our optimal health and wellness. “Olympic weight training applies to all ages, young adolescents to baby boomers and older,” said Stebbins. “Young athletes can successfully and safely improve their strength and overall health by engaging in a well-managed program with trained fitness professionals,” Stebbins says.
RSPT trainers are all licensed and certified, ensure proper form, technique, progression of exercises, safety and effectiveness. Personal and physical training programs are all based on a medical assessment at RSPT. “Time and quality of service are important in the world today and, we are the only personal training gym that offers physical therapy in one location, in Greenwich, with all state licensed trainers.”

“Not only is strength training more popular than ever for competitive athletes but now, due to the known benefits, non-athletes and preadolescent children are engaging as it not only benefits physical strength but bone density, balance, weight loss, confidence, leadership and personal self-esteem,” states Stebbins.
Children can improve strength by 25% to 50% after just 8 to 12 weeks of a well-designed strength training program and the same for older adults, primary candidates for strength training. Parents of adolescents and older adults may shy away from engaging due to the lack of knowledge and the fear of injury. “Cases of injuries due to weight training are mainly accredited to the misuse of weights and equipment, improper technique and lack of qualified supervision, “Stebbins said. Choosing am educated trainer and qualified fitness center prior to signing up for any personal training is highly recommended to minimize risk of injuries.
Rick Stebbins, a passionate pioneer, launched “Performance Therapy” a new method of training to combine his years of physical therapy, strength and conditioning and Olympic weightlifting knowledge. “Performance Therapy” is Stebbins’ unique approach to optimizing human performance. “Personal training alone is not holistic enough for athletes looking to build strength, endurance, balance and increase their agility on a long-term basis,” states Stebbins.
"Positive results are based on how you perform an exercise vs how often,” Stebbins says. RSPT trainers are Licensed Physical Therapists certified in Performance Therapy to ensure proper, technique, exercise progression and most of all safety to avoid pain and further injury. Performance Therapy programs are based on a medical assessment that detects imbalances in strength and flexibility and programs are created specifically to fit your bodies’ individual needs.
